The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Detachment Washington (FISCNORVADETWASH) intends to modify contract N00600-96-C-1876 with InfoEdge Technology to add labor hours and four (4) three-month options under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. All options, if exercised would extend the period of performance through 31 March 1999. Approximately 38,000 potential labor hours will be added to the contract. The contract is for litigation support services and was awarded with limited competition under authority of FAR 6.302-2. This unique-source increase and extension is justified because the support effort underway is continuous and builds upon previous work in such way that it is not possible to bring on a new contractor without incurring prohibitive cost duplication and time delays. This is not a request for proposal. As this contract action will result in a contract modification, no solicitation will be issued. SEE Note 22.
