Brown, PH (202) 267-2506 The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) has a requirement for small-size buoy chain, which will be used for mooring navigational buoys in the coastal and inland waters of the United States. The open-link chain is made from lowcarbon steel and electrically welded. It is to be manufactured in accordance with USCG specification number 377H dated February 1998. The specification will be provided with the solicitaion package. The chain sizes required are 1/2" and 3/4" diamter. The 1/2" chain is furnished in 45' and 90' lengths, and the 3/4" chain is furnished in 90' lengths. Delivery will be FOB destination to various USCG locations. The USCG anticipates awarding a requirements-type contract for a base year and two one-year option years. The SIC Code is 3499 and the size standard is 500 employees. The U.S. Coast Guard intends on issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB)solicitation on or about April 30, 1998. Requests for solicitation on or about April 30, 1998.
