C -- ARCHITECT-ENGINEER SERVICES FOR UPGRADE OF EXISTING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM DUE 042098 POC Faye S. Thomas, 706-731-7176 Furnish A/E Services for Project No. 509-97-143, Fire Alarm Upgrade, Uptown Division, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, Georgia. The existing fire alarm system consists of individual systems made by difference manufacturers; to be replace with one system that is addressable from a centralized location and remote locations. Contract shall be for 100% design, specifications and cost estimate. Firms must demonstrate expertise in renovation and/or construction of fire alarm systems in a hospital setting. The firm will have a registered electrical and mechanical engineer on staff. The firm will have a registered fire protection engineer on staff. Firm must be able to provide specificaions on 3 1/2" floppy disks in Word Perfect Version 5.0. Firm must be able to provide original reproducible drawings on 3 1/2" floppy disks in Autocad R12. Area of consideration -- limited to firms within a 150 mile radium of Augusta, Georgia. Evaluation factors: (1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services; (2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required; (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time; (4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules; (5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project; (6) Demonstrated success in prescribing the use of recovered materials and achieving waste reduction and energey efficiency in the facility design; and (7) Acceptability under other appropriate evaluation criteria. Interested firms shall sumbit SF 254, A/E and Related Services Questionnnaire, and SF-255, A/E Related Services for Specific projects, to the Contracting Officer (111A), VA Medical Center, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, Georgia 30904-6285.
