The US Army Communcications Electronics Command is issuing this Market Survey in an a attempt to develop new sources of supply for our FOTS system. During the lifecycle of the program, there has been only one supplier of hardware components, Lucent Technologies. Lucent has recently made a business decision to terminate support of this product line. The following is a listing of the required components along with the associated CECOM and/or Lucent part numbers: a. Fiber, MIL-F-49291/1 b. Cable Assembly, MIL-F-49292, A3012607/8 c. Connector, MIL-C-83562 d. Bulkhead Connector, A3012602 e. Fiber Optic Splice Assy, A3012612 f. Fiber Optic Splicing Mechanism, A3012621 It should be noted that the specifications and drawings listed do not contain all of the required data to produce the items. The production of each item requires a significant amount of Lucent owned data. Any company desiring to produce these items would first be required to obtain that data from Lucent.
