The FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to acquire on a sole source basis, thirty (30) Chemical Detection Tactical Dropsondes (Chemsondes) for deployment from AN/ALE-47 Counter Measure Dispensing Systems (CMDS). The Chemsonde units will be acquired from Tracor Aerospace, Inc. of Austin, TX, via placement of an order against BOA N00140-96-G-3225. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. See numbered Note 22.
