Guard is seeking sources that can provide a new reduction drive
gearbox, Stock No. 3010-01-448-9298, Solar Turbine Inc., part number
38357-1000. The gear box is used in support of gas turbine generator on
the 378' WHEC's. The quantity to be purchased is one (1) each. The
F.O.B. point shall be destination. All items shall be delivered to the
U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Rd.,
Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. All responsible sources may submit an offer
which will be considered. Technical data and/or drawings pertaining to
the gearbox is not available within the Government and are propriety
to Solar Turbine, Inc. Accordingly, it is believed that this
non-availability of technical data precludes the U.S. Coast Guard
Engineering Logistic Center for obtaining competition as the part is
avialable from one source. However, other potential sources can submit
information concerning their capability to supply the part for the
purpose of the U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistic Center to
determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The procurement
involves the part being procured for Solar Turbine, Inc. or the prime
equipment manufacturer of its actual supplier. Organizations having the
expertise and required capabilities to provide the item are invited to
submit complete information discussing such capabilities as follows:
(i.e. salient physical functional and serviceability, characteristics)
(1) show that they satisfactorily manufactured the part for the
Governement or the prime equipment manufacturer; or (2) submit complete
and current engineering data comparing the offered part to the OEM's to
demonstrate the acceptability of the parts. It is the Government's
belief that only Solar Turbine, Inc. or its authorized distributors can
furnish the required part and ensure the proper fit, form and function
of all its components. Other concerns having the expertise and
required complete information discussing capabilities are invited to
submit complete information discussing capabilities in duplicate within
fifteen (15) days of the announcement. No cost or pricing information
is required. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government
does not intend to pay for the information solicited. Responses must be
concise and be specifically directed to the requirement mentioned
above. Concerns that respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their
capabilities to meet the requirements. Adequate detailed data by which
to evaluate capabilities should be sent to the attention of Sharon

(STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit
