Most of work sites are in very steep to vertical locations where the only means of support for workers and equipment are lifelines. The principal components of the work to be performed include the following: mobilization and preparatory work to Flaming Gorge Dam and Powerplant, drilling and installing steel pipe for anchorages to access to work site, drilling and installing 30-foot long, 1-inch diameter, contractor furnished rock bolts, and drilling and breaking rocks (without blasting) and then scaling these broken rocks from the first bench above the parking area to the toe of the dam.
