61 -- AC/DC VEHICLE ALTERNATORS SOL DABT59-98-R-0007 DUE 041098 POC Terry Hyatt, Contract Specialist, (804) 734-4609, FAX 4633 The Government intends to award a sole source contract with Aura Systems Inc, El Sergundo, CA for 30 each dual use AC/DC, simultaneous out, 5 kilowaat, vehicle alternators in support of a FY98 experimental concept program (CEP). The alternator shall produce 28DC volts to operate equipment and charge batteries and 110 or 220 AC volts to operate auxiliary or attached equipment, such as computers, gps's medical equipment, tools and early entry equipment. The alternators shall be capable to be configured to produce 5 kilowatts of AC voltage while simultaneously producing 100, plus, amperes of 28 DC voltage. This requirement is a result of an initial concept award under a Broad Agency Announcement DAAG55-97-R-BAA1. See Notes 22 and (0082)
