Amendment 0002 is issued to the above combined synopsis/solicitation for the procurement and installation of a video and audio system for conference facilities at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, Maryland. This amendment is issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. A written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to 1) Give a more detailed description of the installation and work to be done; 2) Answer questions raised during the site visit held on March 27, 1998; 3) Add: CLINs 0024, 0025, and 0026; 4) Delete and Replace: CLINs 0012, 0014, 0015, 0018, 0022 and 0023. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTALLATION AND WORK TO BE DONE: The Contractor shall provide and deliver CCU cables and pan/tilt control cables and camera brackets so that the brackets can be mounted and the cables run to the camera positions from each console by NIST staff. NIST, upon the delivery of equipment and consoles, will assemble the consoles and install the CCU's, pan/tilt controllers, wave victor scope, sync generator, and power supplies and related accessories. The Contractor then shall install the pan/tilt heads, the cameras and lens, providing all necessary cables and adapters needed to complete the job. The Contractor shall run a test on both systems and fine tune the cameras, pan/tilt mechanism and related equipment for the best operation to meet factory specification. They must adjust the pan/tilt movement to provide the best angle of recording with these cameras. The Contractor shall provide training on the usage of pan/tilt mechanisms and the adjustment of the cameras. QUESTIONS AND RELATED RESPONSES ARE AS FOLLOWS: QUESTION 1) -- RE: CLIN 0023: For the Winsted consoles, does the 1X, 3X, etc., indicate quantities for those particular catalog numbers fora quantity of 2 each consoles? ANSWER 1) -- Yes, we will need 2 consoles -- each will have the 3x, 1x, etc. QUESTION 2) -- For CLIN 0010 and CLIN 0011 you request 3 each TSM HS102P and 1 each HS105P, respectively. However, CLIN 0015 through CLIN 0018 ask for a split of 2 each lens modifications and 2 each cables. It should probably read CLIN 0015 and CLIN 0017 as 3 each and CLIN 0016 and CLIN 0018 as 1 each. ANSWER 2) We feel the quantities requested in the solicitation will work. Please base your quotations on our quantities. However, you are welcome to propose an alternate quotation stating your solution and quantities. QUESTION 3) CLIN 0023 for the Winstead console lists 3 each 86087. These are shelves without work surfaces. Typically, an 85586 work surface should be included with each shelf frame. Other questions for the console are: do you want blank panels, back panels, or castors? ANSWER 3) Please provide Work surfaces # 85586 and casters #87782. QUESTION 4) Is there anything not listed in the solicitation going into the Winstead console? ANSWER 4) We will install our existing equipment and leave the space for the contractor to install the ccu, pan tilt controls, wave/victor and sync Generator. QUESTION 5) Are we responsible for interfacing with any exiting equipment? ANSWER 5) The contractor will provide output of the system, we will connect to ours. QUESTION 6) Concerning CLINS 0015-0019 -- Are the indicated quantities correct? The numbers do not match with CLINS 0010-0011. ANSWER 6)The following is how the line items should read: CLIN 0010, TSM HS102P, or equal -- 35LB capacity Automatic Pan & Tilt Head, three (3) each; CLIN 0011, TSM HS105P, or equal -- 75LB Capacity Automatic Pan & Tilt Head, one (1) each; CLIN 0015, TSM HSZFSLD, or equal -- Lens Mod for 102, three (3) each; and CLIN 0019, TSM-SDV-CAB 100, or equal, two (2) each. QUESTION 7) What is the height of the cameras? ANSWER 7) In Auditorium #1 (RED), camera #1 (which is in front of the control booth glass) is 13 feet high. In Auditorium #1 (RED), camera #2 which is on the side wall will be mounted 9 feet high. In the Auditorium #2 (GREEN), both cameras will be 9 feet high. QUESTION 8) What is the distance between the control equipment and the cameras & pan/tilt? ANSWER 8) In Auditorium #1 (RED), camera #1 is approximately 50 feet. In Auditorium #1 (RED), camera #2 is approximately 165 feet. In Auditorium #2 (GREEN), camera #1 is approximately 50 feet. In Auditorium #2 (GREEN), camera #2 is approximately 150 feet. The Contractor shall measure for accuracy before installation. THE FOLLOWING ARE ADDITIONS, DELETIONS AND REPLACEMENTS. ADD: CLIN 0024, TSM 102PS4, or equal -- 1 Camera Power Supply for HS102P, one (1) each. ADD: CLIN 0025, TSM WPKT102, or equal -- Wall Bracket for HS102, three (3) each. ADD: CLIN 0026, TSM WBKT 105, or equal -- Wall Bracket for HS105, one (1) each. DELETE AND REPLACE: CLIN 0012, TSM 102PS4, or equal -- 4 Camera Power Supply for HS102P. DELETE AND REPLACE: CLIN 0014, TSM MCS4000, or equal -- Pan & Tilt Controller, three (3) each. DELETE AND REPLACE: CLIN 0015, TSM HSZFSLD, or equal -- Lens Mod for 102, one (1) each. DELETE AND REPLACE: CLIN 0018, TSM HL-CAB-300, or equal -- Power Cable for 105 -- 300 feet, two (2) each. DELETE AND REPLACE: CLIN 0022, Installation, Engineering, Drafting, Labor, Cable, Hardware, Training for usage of pan/tilt mechanisms & adjustments of cameras. DELETE AND REPLACE: CLIN 0023, WINSTEAD (console), or equal -- 3X 86036, 1X 85130, 1X 85130, 1X85040, 2X 85041, 3X 86087, 3X 85060, 3X 85586, and 3X 87782, two (2) each. All offerors shall submit the following: 1) Quote which addresses line items 0001 through 0026; 2) description of commercial warranty; 3) two copies of the most recent published price list; 4) A list of three contracts completed during the past three years for similar equipment with the following information: name of contracting activity, contract number, contract type, total contract value, contracting office and telephone number, and program manager and telephone number; 5) A completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items which may be downloaded from http://www.nist.gov/admin/od/contract/repcert.htm.
