17 -- NAVY H-60 MAIN AND TAIL ROTOR BLADE HEATER MAT RESISTANCE TESTER SOL N68335-98-R-0008 DUE 040698 POC Michael J. Markle (732) 323-7339 Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) for the H-60 Helicopter, consisting of the following item: Navy H-60 Main and Tail Rotor Blade Heater Mat Resistance Testers, P/N 70700-77590-041. The acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not own specifications or drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to procure this item under the authority of U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Stratford, CT, as the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the PSE to be acquired, is the known source with the knowledge, experience and technical data necessary for the manufacture and the design/application requirement of the PSE involved. Firms that recognize and produce the required item are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22. (0092)
