ffinch@vdh.state.va.us. The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is
soliciting sealed proposals to establish a contract through competitive
negotiations for the purchase of consultative services and facilitation
services to conduct a study of and develop recommendations for the
system of health care delivery for children with special health care
needs (CSHCN) in Virginia. The study will focus on three areas: Need
for Services for CSHCN, Components of the Current System for CSHCN, and
Ideal System for CSHCN. The study and recommendations will be completed
in collaboration with the VDH CSHCN Advisory Task Force and its
committees. By January 31, 1999, the statewide assessment of the needs
of and the service system for children with chronic physical
conditions must be completed. By March 31, 1999, a report that includes
recommendations for improvements in the broad system of care for CSHCN
and plan for the new direction of VDH and decentralization of the
management of the VDH Children's Specialty Services clinics must be
