Napier, Contracting Officer, (606)281-3955 Services of an Architectural/Engineering firm with staff specialization in vertical transport systems (as well as successful work history with similar projects in healthcare setting), to investigate, design, prepare working drawings/construction documents and provide construction period services for Project No. 596-98-102, "Upgrade Elevators (C)" and Project No. 596-98-103, "Upgrade SPD Clean Conveyor (C)" at VA Medical Center, Cooper Drive Division, Lexington, KY. A variety of design disciplines, e.g. Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, will be required. Drawings shall be accomplished on "CAD" and be compatible with VA AutoCad system format software, AutoCad release 13. Project "Upgrade Elevators (C)" focuses on methods of upgrade to incorporate new technologies and control systems to maximize efficiency of the vertical transport systems for three (3) passenger and (2) service cable/traction elevators, and has a construction cost range of between $250,000 and $500,000. Project "Upgrade SPD Clean Conveyor (C)" will focus on new systems available and methods to replace a sterile supplies transport conveyor system, and has a construction cost range of between $25,000 and $100,000. Area of consideration is restricted to businesses within 100 mile radius of VAMC, Lexington, KY. Interested firms must submit appropriate data described in Numbered Note 24 no later than May 29, 1998.
