(NPS), Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) has identified a
requirement for the restoration of the Redwood Creek Watershed in Marin
County, California. The project is divided into two phases: Phase I
(Base Year) shall be completed by 4/30/99; and, Phase II (Option Year,
which is subject to the availability of funds) shall be completed by
4/30/00. The Contractor shall be responsible for the production of
8,785 native plants in Phase I and 10,380 native plants in Phase II, of
species and sizes specified by park Natural Resources Staff. Contractor
must be familiar with all phases of native plant nursery operations.
Minimum qualifications for the selection of the contractor include: 1)
demonstrated experience in at least three projects involving the
propagation and growing of species of the Coastal Riparian Vegetation
Type, and the Coastal Redwood Vegetation Type in a formal nursery
situation; 2) demonstrated experience with at least three projects in
the removal of exotics such as Cape ivy, Pampas grass, Eucalyptus,
Sweet fennel, Poison hemlock, Harding grass, Tall Fescue,
Forget-me-nots and French broom, without herbicides; 3) demonstrated
experience with the coordination and supervision of volunteer groups
and Conservation Corps crews; 4) demonstrated experience in nature
education using the redwood forest, riparian habitat and nursery as
classroom, for age groups from 3 years old to high school age; 5)
demonstrated taxonomic knowledge of the native species of these
communities and the invasive non-native species commonly found in them;
6) have a valid driver's license. This acquisition is 100% Set-aside
for Small Business Concerns. Woman Owned Businesses and Minority
