70 -- YEAR 2000 SOFTWARE POC Eugene M. Feinberg, Contracting Officer, 202-720-6864 The United States Department of Agriculture, Office of Chief Information Officer, National Information Technology Center (NITC), is seeking marketing literature and technical documentation on Year-2000 software that can be used by customers to "age" test data in support of Year-2000 testing of applications that reside in an IBM mainframe computer environment. Required software must function as a tool that will change selected date fields, within test datasets, to specified dates of choice. The "aged" data will then be used in various forward date testing scenarios. NITC's test environment is as follows: isolated IBM mainframe LPAR which will perform Year-2000 testing using forward dates through the Year 2001; support IBM OS/390 release 1.3 and newer; execute under an ACF-2 (release 6.1 and newer) environment, as well as a RACF (release 1.9.2 and newer) environment; support multi-user environment. File types to be tested include: flat files (PS and DA); VSAM files; ISAM files; and IAM (Innovation AccessMethod) files. Data base types to be tested include: IDMS (release 12.01 and release 14.0); ORACLE (release 7.2.3 and newer); DB2 (release 3.1 and release 4.1); AS (Application System, release 3.2 and release 4.1); System 2000 (S2K, release 11.6.0, release 12.0.0, and newer); FOCUS (release 7.0.7 and newer); ADABAS (release 5.2.6 and newer), and CICS (release 3.3.0 and release 4.1.0). Responses should address whether the software will execute in NITC's environment (OS/390), and function in each of the listed file types and database formats.
