This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The only approved source for this solicitation is Allison Engine Co., Indianapolis, IN. FSCM: 63005 Solicitation FD2050-98-Q-46086 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Contract line item 0001 is for 265 EA of Compressor, Vane 7th. Size/Dimensions: A vane assembly made up of air foils, inner and outer foil retaining bands, shaped in a half moon shape. The outer band measures approximately 15" in diameter and is approximately 1" thick, the inner band is approximately 1" thick and has a diameter of approximately 11". The air foils are approximately 2" tall; Form/Fit/Function Description: The assembly is part of the 7th stage of a T56 compressor module. During engine operation, the vane assembly directs compressed air from the 6th stage onto the 8th stage compressor rotor blade to continue the compression process through the compressor assembly; Predominant Material of Manufacture: corrosion/heat resistant stainless steel. Material is to be delivered to Kelly AFB, TX (FB2059) as follows: 88 EA -- Aug 99, 88 EA -- Sep 99, and 89 EA -- Oct 99. Inspection and Acceptance are at destination and FOB are at origin.
