combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. The only approved source for
this solicitation is Allison Engine Co., Indianapolis, IN. FSCM: 63005
Solicitation FD2050-98-Q-46101 is issued as a request for quotation
(RFQ). Contract line item 0001 is for 55 EA of Wheel Turbine 3rd Stage.
Size/Dimensions: 6" x 5" x 5; Form/Fit/Function Description: 2nd stage
wheel has machined shoulders near the inner diameter which have curvic
splines cut in them for mounting adjacent sheel. The outer rim of the
wheel are broached for mounting the turbine blades. Predominant
Material of Manufacture: steel. Material is to be delivered to Kelly
AFB, TX (FB2059) as follows: 55 EA -- Mar 99. Inspection and Acceptance
are at destination and FOB are at origin. Offers for this solicitation
will be accepted at SA-ALC/LPKBC, 485 Quentin Roosevelt RD, Kelly AFB,
TX 7824-6427 until 4:00 PM on 6 May 1998. Information regarding this

communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. If your
concerns are not satisfied by the contracting officer, an Ombudsman has
been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors
during the proposal development phase of an acquisition. The Ombudsman
does not diminish the authority of the program director or Contracting
Officer, but communicates Contractor concerns, issues, disagreements,
and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentially as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
