20 -- MANUFACTURE OF 16 CM (6.25 INCH) SUBMARINE COUNTERMEASURES POC Joann Vitek, Contract Specialist, SEA 02612M, (703) 602-0951 The Naval Sea Systems Command is pleased to announce the planned Full and Open Competition for the build-to-performance specification contract for the manufacture of 16 CM (6.25 Inch) submarine countermeasures. A step-ladder quantity of 80-180 Acoustic Device Countermeasure (ADC) with options up to 1,900 ADC Launcher Assemblies over a four year period is anticipated. A Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) is scheduled for release on or about May 4, 1998 to solicit industry comments. The draft 16 CM Submarine Countermeasure solicitation will be posted on the NAVSEA Contracts World Wide Web home page (http://www.contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil) under "Acquisition Business Opportunities/Information Documents" section. A comment period of approximately three weeks will be allowed after receipt of the draft RFP. (0124)
