The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is searching for a commercially available, non-developmental remote control robot system. The robot system will be used for detection, inspection and handling of hazardous material in life threatening situations. The robot must be small in size, highly responsive and maneuverable, capable of performing intricate handling tasks requiring a high degree of dexterity, and generate minimal detectable emissions. The desired features of the robot system are: 1) dimensions under 6" high x 18" wide x 24" long / 15 cm high x 45 cm wide x 60 cm long, 2) wireless remote control range of 1000 yds/ 914 m, 3) ability to lift and carry 25 lb/11.5 kg, 4) mechanical arm with a reach of 36"/90 cm in the horizontal plane, 60"/150 cm vertically, and 6"/15 cm below ground level, 5) maneuverable high resolution video cameras with light source and depth perception capability, 6) operational for 3 hours without recharging, 7) accomodate various specialized attachments with universal input/output ports and power constructions.
