A -- RESEARCH SERVICES SOL W26238 8114-4004 DUE 060598 POC Jeanine Worthington, Contract Specialist, 410-278-6514, Jean Craig, Contracting Officer, 410-278-6517 The Army Research Laboratory intends to negotiate with the University of Arizona for Statement of Work, Title: Soldier Performance for Course-of-Action (COA) Visualization Aids. This effort supports the mission of the Human Research and Engineering Directorate Field Element at Fort Huachuca, AZ. The objective of this effort is to determine the effectiveness of various visualization and aiding conditions for soldier planning and battle management options. The contractor shall perform the following tasks in order to develop a generalized approach to human performance experimentation as part of their basic ABATIS architecture: (1) Develop software and visualizations to run mini-vignettes supplied by the government, (2) Develop simulation and data capture routine to conform to the governments experimental design, (3) Run vignette simulations with soldier participants, (4) Using statistical software packages analyze the resulting data as per experimental design protocol, (5) Document how the resulting software can be generalized to future experiments. Negotiations are planned solely with University of Arizona because of their unique military information processing capabilities, expertise in symbolic knowledge representation and modeling, development of the ABATIS object-oriented architecture, and close geographical proximity to Ft.
