The Defense Supply Service -- Washington intents to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with Defense Forecasts International, 11 Dupont Circle, 9th Floor, Washington, DC 20036, to assist the DoD in developing a comprehensive strategy for supporting the impending decision by the Department of Energy concerning an approach on tritium production over the long-term. The development of a new source of tritium is critical to the maintenance of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile, and the DoD must help ensure that a cost-effective source of tritium is available. Support provided under this contract will help ensure the viability of whatever approach is adopted. This is not a request for competitive proposals. A solicitation document does not exist. (0134)
