Gibney, Contracting Officer, (410) 642-6023 The DHHS, PSC, Supply Service Center intends to award a contract to provide and install a High Speed Pharmacy Production Line consisting of the following components to Modular-King Packaging Inc., 45 Route 46, PO Box 724, Pine Brook, NJ 07058-0724: (1) King SC-500/36 Slat Counter, (2) King Bulk Feed System, (3) King CF-150 Automatic Cottoner, (4) Omega 3D-ERP2 Bottle Loader, (5) Omega In-Line Desiccant Feeder, (6) Omega DL-27 Shrink Bundler, (7) Kaps-All Capper, Model C-8 Bulk Cap Elevator, (8) Quadrel Versaline 1000 Wrap Labeling System, (9) Modular LG-200 Label Verification System, and (10) Conveyor, at an estimated cost of $440,164.00 Immediate need exists for a second high speed pharmacy production line. Equipment must match existing line as it is imperative to provide flexibility in scheduling and interchangeability of trained center staff on both lines. Existing inventories of spare parts kept on hand to prevent critical equipment downtime will be readily available for both lines to perform necessary maintenance and repair. Existing change parts required for different size bottles, and various sizes/shapes of tablets and capsules can be used on both lines as well. Modular-King Packaging Inc. is a sole source for King equipment components. Substantial duplication of cost to the Government for repair parts and change parts is not expected to be recoverable through competition. See Notes 12 and 22. (0146)
