Proposals will be opened on 6/26/98 at 3:00 PM. This is not a public proposal opening. Description of the work: The project consists of renovating the existing post office lobby and workroom and constructing a new retail store and box lobby of approximately 5800 GSF. Construction of an accessible ramp is also included. Construction phasing will be required in order to maintain postal operations and public access. permits will not be required. Vinyl tile, asphalt plank flooring and associated mastic containing asbestos will be removed by the USPS prior to awarding this contract. The project is in the Main Post Office, Fairfield, IA, which is located at the intersection of North 3rd Street and Broadway Avenue. The value of the work is estimated to be between $300,000 and $400,000. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 120 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
