The Naval Facilities Engineering Services Center, Port Hueneme, California, seeks advanced, innovative, facilities technologies applicable to the Navy's shore infrastructure. Typical use for the technologies will be for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Naval air and waterfront facilities. The technologies should fall in one of the following categories: Structural Concrete, Pavement Concrete, Corrosion Protection, Composites, and Roofing. The Navy will evaluate submitted technologies for potential benefit to the Navy and may select the best for field demonstration and validation at Navy activities. Proposed technologies should be described in a 1-2 page document which includes information in the following categories: (1) Proponent: The individual or organization proposing the technology. (2) Technology Area: One of the five technology areas listed in the previous paragraph. (3) Technology: A description of the technology. (4) Navy Benefit: The benefit the Navy can realize through of the technology. Include, if any, the specific cost reduction or expense prevention that the Navy can realize though use of the technology. (5) Cost: The cost of the technology This information is being sought under the Navy's DEMVAL effort. This effort will demonstrate, validate, and accelerate the wide-spread implementation of a broad range of advanced facility technologies needed to overcome design and construction practices that are conservative and remain costly because of the high risk the private sector associates with the utilization of new facility technologies. The effort will accelerate the validation, commercialization, and wide-spread implementation of the facility technologies urgently required to reduce the cost of deficiencies in the Navy's real property management (RPM) backlog by reducing initial construction costs up to 20% and increasing facility component service lives up to 25 years. Interested parties may contact Mr. Joe Connett at telephone 805-982-1570 forfurther information. Based on the information submitted, the government may issue a solicitation to make awards at a later date. No awards will be made from this specific announcement. (0153)
