synopsis for LAN and Microcomputer Maintenance Support for NAS Whiting
Field, FL that was published in the Commerce Business Daily issue of
20 May 1998 is hereby changed to specify that this acquisition is being
procured as a 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE, to extend the estimated
response date for receipt of offers, and to reflect the various
revisions in the requirements. FISC Norfolk Det. Phila. intends to
acquire through full and open competition, restricted to a 100% Small
Business Set-Aside, maintenance services for Government-owned Local
Area Networks (LAN), Microcomputers, and related equipment located at
NAS Whiting Field, FL. A Firm-Fixed Price type contract with a base
year beginning 01 Oct 1998, and four twelve month option periods. Each
year shall include 2,080 hours of on-site maintenance support, 1,040
hours of on-call maintenance support, and an estimated 60 hours of
maintenance support outside the principal period of maintenance, as
well as option quantities of 4,160 hours of on-site maintenance and
2,080 hours of on-call maintenance. All microcomputers and network
servers contain Intel microprocessors and use standard microcomputer
components. Microcomputer components include EIDE and IDE hard drives
and controllers, SCSI, SCSI-2 and SCSI-3 hard disks and controllers,
ethernet 10 Base-T network interface cards and PCI and ISA SVGA video
cards. Other hardware includes scanners, laser printers, dot matrix
printers, VGA and SVGA monitors, Iomega Zip and JAZZ drives, Color
laser printers, and color ink jet printers. Network servers are
Intel-based single and dual processor microcomputers with SCSI-2 and
SCSI-3 hard disks and controllers. Network operating systems are Novell
4.11 and Microsoft 4.0. Network hubs are stackable 3COM and Synoptics
2000 and 3000 series Hubs and components, Hewlett Packard Hubs and
components. Network interface cards include Hewlett Packard 10 Base-T
Ethernet Network Interface Cards, Intel Etherexpress 10 Base-T Ethernet
network Interface Cards, 3COM 10 Base-T Ethernet network Interface
Cards and SMC 10 Base-T network interface cards. Network protocols
include IPX/SPX, NETBUEI, and TCP/IP. Network topology is 10 Base-T.
Commercial off-the-self software to be supported includes: Windows 95;
Windows for Workgroups 3.11; Microsoft Office Professional 4.3;
Microsoft Office Professional 97; Novell Perfect Office; CC-Mail Ver 6;
Lotus Notes; Calendar Creator Plus DOS, Windows; Form Flow Windows;
Lotus 1-2-3 Ver 2.X, 3.X, 4.X, 5.X DOS, Windows; Corel Draw 3.0, 4.0,
5.0 Windows; Quark Express 3.X Windows; McAfee Virus Program;
Lightspeed; Dynacom Elite; Norton Virus Program; and IBM Virus Program.
Government Software to be supported include: MTF (Preparation of
Messages), DPVS (Messages Addresses), and FITREP (Performance
Evaluations). The solicitation will be conducted under the provisions
for Commercial Items. All responsible sources may submit a proposal
which shall be considered by FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia. NOTE
