McConaha (Contracting Officer) at (202-767-8095) The 11th Contracting Squadron intends to negotiate, on a sole-source basis, with J.W. Marriott Hotel, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC 20004, to provide the AF General Officer Matters Office, 1040 AF Pentagon, Washington DC 20330-1040 with a Senior Leader Orientation Course (2 week program) to be hosted by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF) twice this year (Session I: 19-30 Jul & Session II: 16-27 Aug 98). J.W. Marriott Hotel is considered to be the only qualified source for this requirement, because it is the only source that meets the minimum needs of the Government. This course is intended to train and inform new One-Star General Officers and Senior Executive Service (SES) members (active duty, guard, and reserve). A location is needed with large enough facilities to support the large class size (110 + attendees), a multitude of high level briefers, and complex audiovisual requirements. A facility is needed which has a minimum of one large briefing room for 110 + attendees, as well as four smaller break-out rooms capable of holding 35 + attendees. These briefing rooms must all have room for and/or provide/accommodate the latest high tech audiovisual (AV) equipment. Location must also be able to billet (80 rooms needed) all attendees at the government rate for the dates stated. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Proposal Number F49642-98-Q0693. All offers are due no later than noon eastern standard time on 24 Jun 98. The solicitation document and any resultant contract incorporates required clauses and provisions in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-3.
