This project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for a Fixed Price Design/Build Contract for the expansion of the existing Processing and Distribution Facility (General Mail Facility), of approximately 47,144 net square feet, on existing property located at 6050 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The building expansion is to be a one-story (20' clear height to bottom of structure, building height may have to be transitioned at matchpoint), economical, typical general mail facility post office building. Note the information in the Geotechnical Report. Representative construction type to be: steel framed building with insulated panel construction over concrete block or steel tube framing, to match existing, or other type as proposed by offerors and approved by USPS, to match the existing facade. Project is to include CCTV and universal wiring requirements. No fixed mechanization is required. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to, all trades typical to the complete construction of a project such as site work, off-site work, landscape, foundation, concrete, steel, roofing, waterproofing, interior finishes, millwork, signage, doors & windows, storefronts, glazing, hardware, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, as described in the solicitation for proposals. There is some demolition work in the area of the proposed expansion, such as concrete, asphalt and other pavement demolition/revisions and other items, as shown on site plan. Phasing and enclosure partitions are required to maintain operations and safety of employees. See site requirement section of the outline specifications. Exterior wall construction and finish is to match existing. Time of completion is 270 calendar days after notice to proceed, to include both design and construction. A management plan to identify on-site staffing & key personnel assigned to this project, with appropriate resumes and applicable SF 254/255's are required with this proposal. A project schedule is also required with this proposal. This scope of work is further defined in the plans and specifications. Technical evaluations will be made based on 1. Experience 40 points, 2. Management Plan 30 points, 3. Financial Capability 15 points, and 4. Organization 15 points. The estimated cost range is between $3,700,000 and $4,100,000.
