The solicitation packages will be available on July 15, 1998 with an anticipated bid opening on or about August 7, 1998. The successful bidder will be responsible for providing dietitian services, being professional in nature, will be provided in a method as considered normal in the local community. They will be responsible for directing the diet program, counseling inmate patients on diets, such as diabetic, hypertension, cardiac, ulcer and nutrition. They will also observe preparation procedures in the Food Service Department, giving constructive recommendations in these preparations. The contractor must have a degree in nutrition with a current license to practice. The contract period is for one year with two one year options to extend the term of the contract. Additionally, the successful bidder will be required to pass a background investigation. This acquisition is a 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
