This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for simplified acquisition. This announcement constitutes the requirement and is the only documentation that will be issued. A fixed-price bid is requested from all prospective offerors. The total period of performance for this requirement is six (6) months. The Optical Disc Publishing Program of the Office for Patent and Trademark Information in the US Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) requires short-term, interim CD-ROM mastering and replication services for its Cassis series of CD-ROM products from July 1, 1998 through December 31, 1998. During that time, a maximum of 20 discs will be produced, with a guaranteed minimum of 5 discs which will be produced in July/August. For each disc, approximately 700 to 900 replicates will be required. Discs must be packaged in transparent sleeves and paperboard mailers (samples available upon request). The PTO prefers to provide disc label art as CorelDRAW 7 or 8 files (IBM), but may be able to provide Quark files (Macintosh). Disc label art requires four-color process printing, preferably "offset" (high resolution, sample available upon request). Data will be supplied on CD-ROM. Please quote prices for five-day turnaround standard and two-day turnaround accelerated service. Please quote prices separately for test CD-ROMs and for disc-label proofs. Test discs and art proofs will not be requested with every disc. All replicates must be shipped by FedEx to Arlington, VA.
