Pre-Solicitation Notice for Solicitation No. 1425-98-SI-10-07650 is currently available -- The solicitation will be issued on or about July 30, 1998. Estimated price range of the work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This requirement is solicited in accordance with the Small Business Coimpetitiveness demonstration Project. Copies of solicitation provided on receipt of $64.00 each, nonrefundable (check or money order, VISA/Master card are accepted). The work to be performed under this solicitation will take place at the Left and Right Powerplants, a portion of the control cable galleries and shafts of Grand Coulee Dam. The principal components of the work to be performed under these specifications for the Right Powerplant include constructing fire barriers and installing fire doors; installing an alarm and detection system which upon detection of a fire shall provide local alarms and remote indications via existing and new contractor installed alarm, annunciator, and detection equipment manufactured by Pyrotronics, Cerberus Technologies, Inc.;installing or modifying existing sprinkler systems and existing deluge systems; installing motor-operated fire/smoke dampers in existing ductwork or new locations; installing interface devices to control fans and dampers through the fire system. Existing fire water systems are to be upgraded by replacing certain sections of pipe, various valving, adding a fire water riser within the Control Bay stairway and the addition of 2-1/2 inch hydrants, with associated piping modifications to increase system pressure. The work also includes installation of new stairways at various locations;installation of exit signs and general and emergency lighting including repair, rerouting and replacement of intercepted electrical conduit sections and conductors due to core drilling and cutting of floors and walls; installation of suspended ceiling systems. Demolition includes concrete coring: saw cutting and removal of concrete in walls and floors; removal of doors, windows, and walls; removal of louvered air intake systems; removal of short sections of ductwork associated with modifications to air intake systems and damper installations; removal of portions of metal lath and plaster suspended ceiling systems, and removal of piping. The principal components of the work to be performed under these specifications for the Left Powerplant includes upgrading existing fire water piping systems involving removal and replacment of certain sections of pipe and various valving equipment; and installation of cable from the Right Powerplant and an interface card for the existing Master fire system interface.
