Officer, 401-736-1704 fax ISSUE DATE: On or about July 16, 1998: The
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision,
transportation and disposal necessary to replace a medium frequency
(MF) broadcast antenna system at USCG Communications Station, Boston,
MA with a Navigational Telex (NAVTEX) antenna. The system installation
consists of providing and installing a 300 foot monopole, guyed,
ungrounded (hot) MF broadcast antenna, installation of the Government
furnished antenna tuning unit (ATU), providing and installing
approximately 2600feet of AC power cable, ATU control cable, and RF
transmission cable; providing and installing 120 ground radials, 600
feet in length for a 1200 foot diameter ground screen; providing and
installing a tower lighting system, demolition of two existing tower;
demolition of two existing towers, and incidental related work. Option
bid items include extending the radial lengths to 800' (1600'
diameter) and 950' (1900' diameter). Where the radials extend into the
pavement, the depth of burial shall be 1". Restore pavement surfaces
upon completion. SIC is 1799. Bid opening date is on or about August
18, 1998. Plans and specifications may be obtained for a fee by

project is open to both large and small business. and is unrestricted.
