The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a cost-plus fixed fee order under Contract N00019-98-G-0037 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, A wholly owned subsidary of the Boeing Company in support of flight test during Follow-On Test & Evaluation (FOT&E) for the F/A-18 E/F aircraft and for the fabrication and installation of all wiring modifications necessary to provide a navigation FLIR video from an ATFLIR system installed on a E/F aircraft. The McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infra Red (ATFLIR)and, as such, the only firm possessing the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling and special test equipment necessary to perform these efforts within the required timeframe.
