The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Price-Modern of Washington, 9700G Martin Luther King Jr. Highway, Lanham, MD 20706 on a sole source basis for the following items manufactured by Clestra Hauserman: (1) Model HWPL 12 Adapters for Worksurfaces, Qty. 15; (2) Model HWPL 15 Adapters for Tackboards, Qty. 196; (3) Model HWPL 17 Adapters for Overheads, Qty. 1900; (4) Model HWPL 08 Adapters for T-Mount Kits, Qty. 76; and (5) Model SP8000 Attachment Hardware, Qty. 180. Required delivery is FOB Destination Gaithersburg, MD by November 11, 1998. The Government intends to solicit one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 ( c ) (1), "Only One Responsible Source," because Price-Modern as the dealer representing GSA schedule vendors is responsible for coordinating the supply and installation of furniture systems to ensure schedule compliance for the occupancy of the NIST Advanced Chemical Sciences Laboratory. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
