J -- MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT FOR GROUND WAVE EMERGENCY NETWORK CONTRACTOR MAINTENANCE SUPPORT (GWEN CMS) POC Sheila Rollins, Contract Specialist (402) 294-3738 The Government intends to modify Contract F25600-96-D-0505 for Ground Wave Emergency Network Contractor Maintenance Support (GWEN CMS) to add: (1) installation of 52 auto dialer kits at relay node sites to permit remote monitoring antenna tower lights; (2) preparation of plans to deactivate the network; and (3) deactivation of the network, to include removal of all government property and dropping or lowering antennas. The GWEN is a low-frequency, high-altitude, electro-magnetic-pulse-protected command and control communications system with sites located throughout the continental United States. The GWEN CMS contractor is GTE Worldwide Telecommunications Services, Data Systems Services Division, 1510 Wall Street, Bellevue, NE. The government intends to modify the current contract because previous announcements relative to GWEN support produced no other contractor proposals. All responsible sources may submit information regarding capability to perform these services, and all information submitted will be considered.
