This shaft is a part of an abandoned uranium mine. It is approximately 12 feet square and 450 feet deep. The proposed closure method is to backfill the shaft, install an 8 foot thick polyurethane foam plug, and cover with 4 feet of soil. The surface would than be recontoured, the original drainage pattern reestablished, and the surface reseeded. This project is located approximately 10 miles east of LaSal, UT. This project is between $25,000 to $100,000. The proposed contract is 100% total set-aside for small business.
