This project consists of stabilizing an existing island with rockfill at a location in Pool 6 of the Upper Mississippi River. The site is located at approximate river mile 718.6 in the area known as Blacksmith Slough. A total of approx. 3,400 metric tonnes of rockfill would be used to stabilize approx. 500 linear meters of shoreline. Access to the site will be by marine equipment. It may be advantageous to accomplish the work during high water conditions so that no dredging will be necessary to construct or access the project. Some incidental removal of tree debris may be required. THIS PROCUREMENT IS ISSUED UNRESTRICTED UNDER THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM (PUBLIC LAW 100-656).
