Provide Architect/Engineer Services to prepare contract drawings and specifications to install sprinkler systems in all remaining unsprinklered areas of Building No. 1 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Greater Nebraska Health Care System, Lincoln Division, Lincoln, Nebraska. All systems shall conform to Local, State and National Sprinkler codes to include VA Construction Standards and NFPA 13. The A/E will be required to review any areas of the building that are currently sprinklered and design any modifications required to insure total compatibility of the entire system. The A/E shall incorporate any changes, additions, etc., required to the existing fire alarm system to insure a complete operational system. The design shall also include construction of any required pipe chases, soffits, etc., necessary to conceal all risers, piping, etc. The A/E will develop a workable phasing schedule to allow ongoing construction while maintaining functional operation of the building. A firm-fix price contrat is to be awarded, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. All interested parties shall submit qualifications to the Contracting Officer on Standard forms 254 and 255. A/E firms shall include all relevant information regarding past projects designed which are similar to this project. All responses are to be received no later than 4:30 P.M. on August 28, 1998.
