Note: The Air Force reserves the right to add or delete any or all technology focus areas. The Air Force has developed and collected their FY99 Dual Use Science & Technology focus areas. The proposed topics contain the same information as will appear in the DOD FY99 Dual Use Science & Technology (DUS&T) program solicitation that opens on or about Aug. 15, 1998, plus the name/phone number/fax number/e-mail of the individual sponsoring the topic and procurement official. The solicitation is currently planned to be a two part solicitation, six week white paper phase (Aug. 15 -- Sep. 30) followed by the proposal phase (Oct. 15- Dec. 15). The purpose of this document is to provide industry with an advance copy of the Air Force DUS&T technology focus areas. It also provides an opportunity to discuss the technical aspects of these requirements with the point of contact from the sponsoring organization. It is anticipated that the additional insight will assist industry in preparing more responsive & competitive proposal(s). DOD outreach to industry will continue through Oct. 15, 1998; afterward questions may be addressed to the sponsoring activity through the normal process. As of Oct. 15, 1998, no additional technical information (this includes specifications, recommended approaches, further refinement, the limiting of topic areas, etc.) will be made available by Air Force personnel during the DOD proposal solicitation period.
