The Naval Air Systems Command is contemplating setting aside the VH-3D
and VH-60N Flight Training Device (FTD) competition for small business
participants All small businesses interested in responding to this
procurement announcement should submit a point paper, as outlined
below, demonstrating their ability to fulfill and manage the
requirement. Responses must arrive at the Naval Air Systems Command not
later than 10 days after the date published. (1.) State your experience
and expertise in delivering flight training devices, and the degree of
involvement. Present flight simulators delivered in which you have
applied this experience. (2.) State your experience and expertise in
integrating and modeling a software intensive avionics system into a
full fidelity real-time flight simulator. Include in your discussion
the reuse and integration of Operational Flight Programs (OFP). Present
flight simulators delivered in which you have applied this experience.
(3.) Visual System: (a.) State your experience and expertise in
integrating and tuning complex visual systems in a full fidelity
real-time flight simulator. Present flight simulators delivered in
which you have applied this experience. (b.) Describe your experience
and expertise with visual display systems with a size limitation, i.e.
limited space due to transportability requirements. (c.) Describe your
experience and expertise with visual databases. Include database
generation, and reuse, reformatting, and modification of existing
databases. Also include source data considerations and customized
geospecific gaming areas. (4.) State your experience and expertise in
integrating and tuning an aerodynamic model into a full fidelity
real-time flight simulator. Include in your discussion the reuse and
integration of existing aerodynamic models. Present flight simulators
delivered in which you have applied this experience. (5.) State your
experience and expertise in networking flight trainers for
collaborative training. Include in your discussion visual
databasecorrelation. Present flight simulators delivered in which you
have applied this experience. (6.) State your experience and expertise
in providing simulator flight instruction and life cycle support of
flight training devices. (7.) Describe current capabilities and
capacities to develop real-time software. This description shall
include your self-assessment of your software development process
structured in accordance with the Carnegie Mellon University Software
Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model. All firms interested
