Threatt, Contracting Officer, (205)933-4490 The DVAMC, Birmingham, AL intends to negotiate with University Microfilms International for a one-year subscription for a web-based, full image archival medical journal database during the period 10-1-98 through 9-30-99. The database shall include but is not limited to the following features: Contents of journals should be presented cover-to-cover in full color; provide full image of charts, maps, graphs, and photographs; PC accessible; provide access to documents in ASCII full text; graphic support through adobe acrobat reader; include access to journal titles covering general medicine, specialty areas, nursing, psychiatry, pharmacy, and consumer health; include institutional license for access by all VHA staff; contractor provided on-line journal access; unlimited access to the database and unlimited printing at no additional cost; copright cleared articles; provide keyword search capability based on Boolean operators; formatted for the novice user as well as advanced search tools for in-depth searches; archival database supply for more than the last five years of information; weekly updated information; customer service support available by phone and/or E-Mail; and the capability to calculate usage statistics.
