686-1420. The Federal Bureau of Prisons is soliciting for Pharmacist
services for the Metropolitan Detention Center, Corner of Road 165 at
Road 28, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The work schedule will consist of five
(5) sessions per week, each session will last six (6) hours, not to
exceed thirty (30) hours per week. All sessions will be conducted from
Monday through Friday. The contractor will be responsible for the
following: assisting the Chief Pharmacist in the daily operation of the
pharmacy; reviewing all activities performed by the Pharmacy
Technicians; the filling of prescriptions and reporting of any
deviations of BOP and DEA requirements to the Chief Pharmacist or
Health Services Administrator during her absence; maintaining adequate
supplies of all formulary items and other medical supplies;
participating in all Pharmacy and Therapeutic committee meetings by
providing professional expertise; ensuring proper and correct
maintenance of accountability inventories of all DEA controlled
substances and shall helpmaintain the medication monitoring system for
the prescription of medications. Qualifications include a degree from
an accredited pharmacy school as well as certification by the Puerto
Rico Board of Pharmacy and must be licensed to practice as a Pharmacist
in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The anticipated period of
performance will be as follows: one base year to begin upon date of
award through 12 months with four subsequent one year option periods.
