This work consists of the renovation of and alterations to three (3) existing MBTA Green Line Surface Stations (on the D Line) to make them fully accessible in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This Contract is subject to a financial assistance Contract between the MBTA and the Federal Transit Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Each prospective bidder proposing to bid on this project must be prequalified in accordance with the Authority's "Procedures Governing Classification and Rating of Prospective Bidders." Copies may be obtained from the Contract Administration Office at the above address. Requests for prequalification for this Project will not be accepted by the Authority after the tenth (10th) day preceding the date set for the opening of bids. Prequalified bidders may obtain from the Contract Administration Office a "Request for Bid Form" which must be properly filled out and submitted for approval. Bidding documents may be obtained from the Contract Administration Office at the address above from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., after August 7, 1998, Monday through Friday, at a charge of $100.00 per copy. The Authority's STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS, BIDDING AND CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS AND DIVISION 1 -- GENERAL REQUIREMENTS dated November, 1983, is available at a charge of $5.00 per copy. Authority's STANDARD SPECIFICATION, CONSTRUCTION, dated January, 1980, is available at a charge of $15.00 per copy. Bidding documents will be sent upon request and receipt of an additional fee of $15.00, payable by separate check. Bidding documents will be forwarded by Air Freight, where such service is available, at the expense of the plan holder. NONE OF THESE CHARGES ARE REFUNDABLE.
