This project consists of the installation of a base wide, fiber optics "backbone" network installed both between and through multiple buildings on-site. All existing process alarms shall be tied in to the new fiber optics "backbone" network. The installation of new fire alarm panels in buildings where process alarms are to be sent and the tie-in of all existing fire alarms and security signals, being sent to the Boiler House, to the network and relayed back to the Kansas Street guard house. A final tie-in of the fire alarms being sent through the new fiber optics network shall be made to the City of Natick Master Box System. The project also consists of incidental work associated with the installation of the new fiber optics "backbone" network including site work, concrete work, thermal and moisture protection and painting. The estimated cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Work shall be completed within 180 calenar days after receipt of a notice to proceed. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 8/19/98 at a cost of $60.00 per set. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the New England District.
