Z-12 Reference Stations P/N: 990185-10 including RTCM option P/N: 680007-1 and 2 EA. RZ Options, 3 EA. GPS Choke Ring Antennas P/N: 700936, 2 EA. 30M Antenna Cables P/N: 100914, 2 EA. Pacific Crest VHF RFM96W/35 173.4375MHz transmitters, 4 EA. Pacific Crest VHF RFM96W/2 173.4375 MHz transmitters, and 1 EA. Geodetic Base Station Software P/N: 105186. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Ashtech, 1170 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, on a sole source basis under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), "Only One Responsible Source". Ashtech reference stations and transmitters are being procured to support real time differential correction for Z-12 GPS systems installed on NASA Dryden test aircraft using Ashtech proprietary PNAV algorithms. Ashtech owns the sole rights to the PNAV algorithms. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
