Center-Carderock Division, Philadelphia, PA., intends to acquire
services and material, on a sole source basis, from Measurements
Systems, Inc., to modify provided Throttle Lever Assemblies (P/N
541-G2378) in order to meet the current specifications and successfully
pass Mil-S-901 (D) Grade A, Class I, Type A requirements. Throttle
Lever Assemblies are currently installed onboard MHC-51 Class Ships.
Modified assemblies shall be P/N 541-G2378-1. Applicable documents: MSI
Drawing M541-G2378; MIL-S-901 (D) Shock Tests, High Impact, Shipboard
Machinery, Equipment and Systems. Contractor shall supply material and
labor to manufacture and incorporate the shock hardened design changes
into Throttle Lever Assemblies supplied by the government.
Modifications incorporated for shock shall not degrade the Throttle
Lever Assembly with respect to meeting the existing requirements as
identified in the original specifications. If the initial design
modification does not successfully pass shock testing, the contractor
shall be responsible for altering the design and incorporating
modifications into the supplied Throttle Lever Assemblies. The design
modifications shall be reviewed by the government prior to
incorporation into the hardware. The contractor upon receipt of
Throttle Lever Assemblies shall inspect the material and functional
condition of each unit. A detailed list of deficiencies and estimated
cost of repair shall be provided to the government within one week of
receipt. The government shall have the option to fix or replace
deficiencies as required. All responsible sources may submit an offer
which will be considered. Requests for the RFQ must be in by the above
