Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to purchase an ASPEC
XL 4 Automated Solid Phase Extraction System on a sole source basis
from Gilson, Inc in Middleton, Wisconsin. The Automated Solid Phase
Extraction System includes the ASPEC XL4 sample processor, 404 Syringe
Pump module with four (4) 10 ml syringes, six beveled constricted tip
needles and other related standard accessories. The ASPEC XL4 is used
for sample preparation in the determination of methylmalonic acid in
plasma by GCMS and increases the throughput 2-3 fold. With the ASPEC
XL4, up to 108 samples can be pre-loaded and run in one batch without
manual intervention. Vendors offering comparable systems have 45 days
from the date of this synopsis to submit fully detailed information
describing their system for review by our office. No solicitation
exists and requests for such a document will be considered
