70 -- GENERAL-PURPOSE AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING EQUIPMENT (INCLUDING FIRMWARE), SOFTWARE, SUPPLIES, AND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT SOL 6TSA-98-DJH-0176 DUE 081498 POC Point of Contact -- Contact Delta Helm by fax (816)823-3322 The General Services Administration intends to issue a task order to Raytheon Systems Company under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 through their GSA Schedule Contract. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement shall cover the engineering, acquisition, installation, support, operation and maintenance of Tactical Very Small Aperture Terminal (TVSAT) systems and the accompanying space segment necessary for the compatible functionality of the TVSAT systems. Raytheon developed the initial functionality of TVSAT coupling commercial VSAT technology to a laptop computer running the appropriate user specific software for the client agency, the Air Force Weather Agency (AFWA). Raytheon further developed a receive-only TVSAT terminal that is interoperable with the two-way VSAT. This portion of the procurement will be ordered against Raytheon GSA schedule as the provider of this TVSAT. The space segment for TVSAT must be compatible with the VSAT shared hub, which supports the existing fixed Air Force and Army sites. Raytheon is knowledgeable of these requirements as the developer of both the fixed and tactical systems. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by close of business August 14, 1998 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
