70 -- SOFTWARE DEBUGGER AND PERFORMANCE MEASURING SYSTEM SOL N68936-98-R-0199 POC Shaleen Lambert, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-7652 The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on a competitive basis one (1) Software Debugger and Performance Measuring System (SDPM) using FAR Part 12, Commercial Items procedures. The SDPM shall provide real time software debugging and performance measuring capability for the F/A-18 Mission Computer (MC). The AN/AYK-14 MC was designed by Control Data Corporation and is used in all F/A-18 aircraft. The specific F/A-18 MC targeted for instrumentation with the Software Debugger and Performance Measuring (SDPM)system is known as the AN/AYK-14 (V), XN-8, VPM-25A/B. The XN-8 computer contains (2) two VHSIC Processor Module (VPM) CPUs and (6) six MIL-STD-1553 Discrete Interface Modules (DIMs). In the XN-8 configuration the SDPM system must interface with (2) VPMs and (2) DIMs. This SDPM will be used to monitor and debug Operational Flight Programs (OFP) developed for the F/A-18 Integrated Product Team (IPT). The SDPM shall have the capability to save the specification ofa particular test setup to a file for later reuse if a test needs to be repeated. Files stored in the Log and Snapshot mode shall be in the same format for ease of use during data analysis. The SDPM must provide an off-the-shelf capability to non-intrusively monitor the MC in real time and allow simultaneous bus monitoring of two buses. Non-intrusive is defined as a device that provides the capability described above without the use of the target computers memory, registers, or CPU. Real-time is defined as testing that provides immediate response to events, and logs monitored data to a raw file in the sequential order of its execution in the AN/AYK-14 for post run analysis and retrieval. The flow of program execution at the procedure level is needed to ensure correct code and data areas are accessed. The SDPM requires a minimum 233 HZ Pentium grade work station, 16MB Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory, 3.5" 1.44 MB Floppy Diskette Drive, 20" color monitor, 3 Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) portsfor 2 monitor/capture channels, mouse, keyboard, installed monitor/capture software, and Windows 95 operating system. Due to the large amounts of data displayed and the corresponding long length of time required by the user to analyze monitored events, a 20" color monitor shall be provided as the interface between the user and SDPM system. A Graphical User Interface shall be provided for ease of setup, control, and analysis of captured data and performance of the target system. Delivery shall be FOB Destination 60 days from date of award. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Requests for a copy of the solicitation should be submitted in writing to Commander, Code 210000D, Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, Attn: Shaleen Lambert, N68936-98-R-0199, China Lake, CA 93555-6100 or by facsimile to (760) 939-9651 no later than 15 days from the date of this synopsis. Address any questions to Shaleen Lambert at the above address or call (760) 939-7652. Posted 08/05/98 (I-SN233116). (0217)
