This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. UNICOR requests quotes for packing boxes, for a two year period. This solicitation will result in a firm fixed price requirements type contract. The solicitation number 1PI-Q-0078-98 is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 98-07. The standard industrial classification code is 2653 and small business size standard is 500. There are two line items included in this solicitation and quantities are estimated on a two (2) year usage. Line Item 0001, UNICOR Part Number: PAC1160, Box, Corrugated Fiberboard, Double wall, domestic class, regular slotted container (RSC) style, Size: 26"(L) X 26" (W) X 36" (D); Weight: 275LBS. Estimated Qty: 42,000 each. Line Item 0002, UNICOR Part Number: PKG0449; Caster Support; Dimensions: 25-3/4"(W) X 25-3/4"(L); Corrugated Fiberboard; Type: Scored 1-3/4" on 2 sides. Estimate Qty.: 80,000 each. Minimum Quantity Per Delivery Order: 25 each. Maximum Quantity Per Delivery Order: 1,000 each. The period of performance is date of award through two years thereafter. An Economic Price Adjustment may be requested every 12 months in accordance with the change in the Producer Price Index for Corrugated and Fiber boxes (product code 2653). Adjustments may be requested for a period not to exceed 30 days after the eligible adjustment date. Place of delivery and acceptance is FOB Destination, UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, Federal Correctional Institution, 1500 Cadet Road, Taft, CA 93268. All invoices shall be forwarded to the same shipping address. Delivery acceptance is 30 days after receipt of each delivery order, issued by authorized personnel. The contractor will ensure packaging of material to prevent damage during shipment. All shipments shall be marked with the following information: Item description, delivery order number, weight, quantity and UNICOR part number. Award will be on an All or None basis. Offerors are advised that award may be evaluated with or without discussions. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, evaluation criteria: The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: technical capability of the items offered to meet the governments requirement and price. Offerors are advised to include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its offer. The clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition and any additional FAR clauses cited in the clause are applicable. Offers must indicate technical description of the item being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation, terms of any express warranty, price and any discount terms. The response time for receipt of offers are to be received on or before August 13, 1998 at 1300PM.
