The National Park Service has a requirement for a Historic Resources Study (HRS) on Channel Islands National Park. The HRS requires the up-to-date study and synthesis of relevant historical data, the identification of relevant historical contexts (there, time and place), and the evaluation of historic resources within these relevant historical contexts by applying National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) standards for integrity. Research will be conducted in a variety of repositories and utilizing agency records. Oral history interviews with individuals knowledgeable about the area's history will be conducted. The data collected will be synthesized and a comprehensible narrative will be prepared using a variety of graphic materials to enhance the text.
