The Contractor may opt to rapidly process the material on-site by incorporating contaminated materials into an asphalt slab placed on site, thereby eliminating further regulation of materials or by removal and processing off-site with no liability extended to the Federal Government. Work is located in Port Alice, on Heceta Island, a small island on the west coast of Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. Access to Heceta Island is by float plane or boat from one of the neighboring communities on Prince of Wales Island or Ketchikan. Contract is to be completed by October 1, 1999.
